Cross Country excursion to: Butler Primary School (Oval). We will be travelling there by bus provided by Butler College, which Mr Allan will be driving.

Date : Friday 7^th August, 2026. (Term 3, Week 3)

This excursion has been planned to supplement the following work being completed in

curriculum learning area Physical Education.

In order to make the event more efficient and accurate the students will continue to use the RFID ankle bracelets to track times, places and school points. The tags are a sensor that activate the timing gate at the start and end of the race. Timing Solutions, a third-party provider endorsed and security checked by the Department of Education will be providing the timing service for the event- student name, gender and school to distinguish from other competitors, and I stress, only for the event as no student information is kept. 
If you accept consent for the event you are consenting to providing the above student information to Timing Solutions.
Please note, no student information is shared online and will be deleted after the event.

The cost of the excursion is free. The class will depart from Merriwa PS at 8.30am and return to Merriwa PS at 11.40am approximately.

Students are required to:

• Dress in school sports uniform.
• Wear suitable footwear – good running shoes.
• Be sun smart (wear school hat, sun cream).
• Bring a bottle of water.
• Pack their recess, lunch etc.
